Competition for the construction of a nursery school with ONZE04 Arquitectos

– URBANIZATION

Arrangement of the itinerary that gives access to the educational complex to gain a new square and recognizing it as a backbone and central axis of the enclosure by creating a new access to the complex, protected from traffic, with meeting and play spaces.

– ARCHITECTURAL PROPOSAL

Recognize the pre-existences by adopting the alignments of the primary building in order to ensure the unity of the complex and create a courtyard around the building.
A large pitched roof finished with a minimum pitch to reduce its visual impact on the facade, contains a central slit that allows skylights in the classrooms to bring in natural light and allow a view of the sky.

The roof rests on ceramic masonry cores that dialogue with the pre-existences and allow us to remove the glazed facade of the classrooms generating porches. These cores contain the server spaces, which become the organizing elements of the space.
The layout of the classrooms is compact and functional, grouped in 3 branches of 3 classrooms each located in a “U” shape, optimizing the functioning of the school, minimizing routes, maximizing compactness and ensuring that each classroom has its porch and patio.

– CONSTRUCTIVE PROPOSAL

Simple, sustainable and easy to maintain building, consisting of an exposed brick plinth and a roof of laminated wood beams and CLT wood panels covered with veneer. The interior closings that are not part of the cores are also made of wood.
Interior finishes will be sincere and low maintenance.

through the false ceiling of the corridor to optimize routes and facilitate maintenance.
